PROJECTS IMPLEMENTED DURING LAST YEAR 2010- 2011

Harappani Gorbanjara Mandal, Pawar Wasti. Bhavthana was established in 2004 with the lead role & initiative of Traditional Embroidery practicing, educated women From Banjara Community from Beed District. The goal is to empower rural poor, backward, tribal & economically weaker people in all respect i.e. socio -economically & educationally with main focus on rural women & children in the area. The specialty of the organization is that it is a woman based i.e. all its members are women. The object was also to preserve cultural heritage of different communities with focus on Banjara contributing considerable population in the area. The details of activities implemented & programs organized during the period 1st April 10 TO 31st March 11 are as given below:-
 
Health Awareness Camp ( World Health Day7th April 2010):-

On occasion of World Health Day (7th April 2010) the program on health awareness was organized at village Bahavthana. Dr. Udmale was the resource person. The object was to aware people on health & related issues. The doctor provided information on topics like importance of good health in life, ways to maintain it, cleanliness of the body, Premises & village. He also added that people should get balanced diet and keep regularity in life. At last he said that maintaining better health must be prioritized by everyone to lead better quality of life. The staff workers also guided the participants of the program & appealed them to maintain cleanliness in the house & in the village. The staff workers who made efforts were Sanjay Rathod, Anita Kamble & S.S. Pawar. In all 125 men, women & youths participated in the program.

Tree Plantation Programme (22 April 2010 World earth day):-

As UNO has declared 2010 year as International Biodiversity and Youth Year All activities related this subject were .implemented by this organization.A part of environment conservation on biodiversity plantation done by organization in gairan land of Morphali. Plants of Neem, Baniyan tree were planated. Near about 150 trees were planted.
Mr. Shankar Pawar and Baliram Pawar have worked on by help of organization.

Animal Vaccination Camp (20th May World animal Day):

Animal vaccination camp was organized by organization. In Bhavthana, Pawar wasti and Rajewadi village.Near about 600 animals were vaccinated with Foot and Mouth Disease.Mr,Bandu vairage ,Mr.Gaikwad ,Mr.Satwadhar were resource person.
 


Environment Awareness Camp (World Environment Day 5 June 2010):-

On Occasion of World Environment Day Programme was organized in village Dhavadi in Ambajogai Taluka on 8th June2010. Mr. Dipak Deshpande was the resource person who guided the school students in the village. He explained does & don’ts for maintaining environmental balance. He provided information on topics like types of pollution which degrades environment. How people can help to minimize pollution there by to conserve environment. Around 100 students participated in the camp. The staff workers also guided on the issue & made efforts to make the camp successful. They included Anita Kamble, S.S.Pawar,Raju Chavan,Vitthal Rathod & Suresh Rathod. The local volunteers also actively participated.


Education Awareness Camp (Interational Literacy day (8th September 2010):-

It was organized on 8th September 2010 in village Dhavadi of Ambajogai taluka. The focus of program was girl’s education as the progress of family depends upon educational status of mother & other female members of family.        Dr. Rukmini Pawar, the first woman who passed Ph.D from Banjara community was the resource person. She said that men should prioritize girl’s education for their better future and added that a society cannot make progress without education of girls/women in it. The way she explained important & need of girl education was simple & lucid. She shared her experience while taking education being a girl from Banjara community. She appealed girls to insist to their parents for education & is only the solution for their better future. Anita Kamble also guided 95 participants other staff workers actively participated in it.

Handicraft Awareness Camp:-

On occasion of  Mahatma Gandhi’s Anniversary ( 2nd Oct. 2010 ) a one day camp on awareness on handicraft/art among BANJARA communitywas organised. The object was to promote people for preserving & motivating for the special clothing of Banjara Community. Dr. S.S.Pawar, Champawati Pawar was the resource persons. Baliram Pawar, Anita Kamble, Kiran Neharkar supported the program by providing guidance and also organizing camp properly. The camp was organized in village Dongar Pimpala in Ambajogai Taluka. The volunteers namely Ashok Rathod, Pramod Pawar, Rajiv Rathod, helped to organize the program. The participants were satisfied to participate in the program

Women Empowerment Melawa (17th October 2010 International Poverty eradication Day) :-

It was held on occasion of International Poverty eradication Day Dr. Rukmini Pawar guided the participants on different aspects of women empowerment like girl’s education, women economic self reliance, gender equality or equal opportunity to men & women, women health etc. The melawa was organized in village Bhavthana in Ambajogai taluka. Suresh Rathod, Anita Kamble appealed the women to fight for their & to organize them. The no of total participants was 105.


1st December 2010 world AIDS Day AIDS Awareness Camp:-

It was organized in village Sonvala in Ambajogai taluka as it is of major concern to the society of India & world as well. The occasion was world AIDS, day i.e. 1st December 2009. Ms. Anita Kamble and Shivam Tak were the resource persons who guided issues related to AIDS. They mainly included what is AIDS, mode of its transmission, symptoms of HIV positive person, tests for testing HIV and the service treatment given by the govt. hospitals to HIV positive patients. Ms. Kamble appealed the HIV test must be made compulsory to both the spouse prior to marriage & trend has been being developed very slowly.

Farmers Melawa ( 23rd December 2010 World Farmars Day):-

One day farmer’s melawa was organized on 23rd December 2010 World Farmers Day in village Lokhandi Sawargaon in Ambajogai Taluka. The focus of program was Organic farming. It was organized with objective to aware & motivates farmers in the area to adopt organic farming. An Agriculture expert Dr. S.V. Thombre guided the participants on organic farming & it’s different aspects like need & importance, advantages of organic farming, adverse effects of use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides on crop yield, human health & ultimately on environment. He explained simple methods of preparing organic manure/ compost with available material with farmers along with cost benefit ratio i.e. comparison between organic farming & farming by taking use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides. Kiran Rathod, Shankar Pawar, Sumit Kourwar, Vimal Jadhav,Anita Pawar was the staff workers who made efforts for the program through their active participation.

Rural Health And Sanitation Program(23 february 2010 Saint Gadagebaba Jayanti):-

It was organized on 23rd February2010. The state govt. had already launched village sanitation program. The object of this program was to aware people on the issue of rural health, cleanliness in the house as well as in the village. It was organized in village Kuranwadi in Ambajogai taluka. Nearly 190 people both men & women participated in the program. S.V. Patil, Mr. Shivam Tak and some others were the resource persons. The focus was on one’s health & hygiene Gutters/drainage must be cleaned up, the unwanted material is thrown/put into the dustbin only. The people were satisfied with the program.

8th March 2010 International Womens Day Traditional Dress Competition:-

Traditional competition was organized in Kalwati Tanda on occasion of Womens Day. Dr. S.S. Pawar was the main resource persons. The object was to motivate people to preserve cultural heritage i.e. clothing of Banjara commnnity .Exhibitions were organized at different places/in cities in the country during the reporting period. In these handicrafts on traditional clothing of Banjara community were presented and were appreciated by the organizers of exhibitions & by people both. The staff workers who presented the items/samples & explained to the visitors included Ms. Asha Pawar, Vijaya Pawar & Shankar Pawar. The local staff workers & volunteers helped in participating in the Community. Dr. S.V. Patil, Dr. Vijay Pawar, Dr. Pawar being from the Banjara community, he explained how to make clothing more than 50 participants comprising both men & women participated in it. The clothing of Banjara community has some specialty. A competition on Traditional Dress clothing of Banjara community was organized. The best dress award prize was also given to the topper. The people actively voluntarily participated in the program.
Dr. Pawar, Mrs. Vijaya Pawar and with the help of staff workers & village level volunteers programme was successfully organized.

Training Program:-

It is a regular activity implemented by organization. Funded by Govt.Of India ,Textile Ministry under AHVY. Champawati Pawar, Ms. Vijaya Pawar guided the participants on different training programs, feasibility etc. The object was to motivate rural women in the area for income generation through training. The program was implemented for four months and it benefited140 women/girls. The training was provided on handicraft regarding clothing of Banjara community. It would motivate other girls/women for training on handicraft. Training was conducted at Vasantnagar Tanda.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP:-

Activity implemented by organization. Funded by Govt.Of India ,Textile Ministry under AHVY. The traditional embroidered products made were for personal and domestic use. They were labour intensive as they were not for any commercial purpose.

 It was decided to reduce the embroidery to make it more commercially viable.
 It was use the heavy traditional designs in smaller areas to make it less labour intensive and more commercial.
 It was designed products keeping in mind the current trend in the retail market.
 New products, fabrics and materials have been introduced using the existing skills.

After considering the artisan skill, availability of raw materials and fashion trend in India, sketches were made. After a discussion a selection was made from these drawings. The following concepts were introduced

small cuddly cushions, gift pouch, shopping bag, denim skirt, potpourri pouch, runners for tables, stoles, yokes, mobile cases.

Kabbadi Competition:-

Kabbadi competition was organized at Rajewadi village. The students of primary school from Pawar wasti, Rajewadi Tanda and Rajewadi were participated in competition. The teachers from all Primary school were present for competition. Mr. Tarkase, Mr. Sable teacher has worked as instructor of competition. The winner group of students was honored with pushpahar, shriphal and note book as prize. Mrs. Shantabai chavan and Sumit Kourwar has worked for competion from organization.

Vayasanmukti Camp:-

To aware youth about Various diseases occurred by chewing Tabaco, Smoking, wine drinking, organization has organized Vyasanmukti camp. Dr. Vasudev Neharkar has addressed to youth from Rajewadi, Bhavthana, Rajewadi Tanda . they were award about untoward effects of these habits. Near about 150 women, men’s, youth was present for vyasan mukti camp. Mr. J.S. Kaurwar, Mr. vijaya Pawar were present on this occasion..

Cultural Programme :-

Such programmes are the easy tool to gather people and spread the appropriate messages through folk’s art. The Kalapathak programmnes were organized in all the 5 villages and the issues related to water, sanitation, hygiene behavarious , Importance of SHG, Child education and PRI activities were mainly focused.
The highlight on the Govt. Scheme of total sanitation, Jalswaraj and Swajaldhara Yojana was made as well.

Annual Meet of CNRI at New Delhi:-

Organization is member of CNRI .Fourth annual meet was held in month of September 2010 at Bangluru at Art Of living center. With auspicious hands of Mr. Ravi Shankar and Mohan Dharia function was inaugurated. Success stories of great social scientists were presented. Near about 2500 members were present for this two days meet from all over country.

Handicraft Exhibition: -
  
Exhibitions were organized at different places/in cities in the country during the reporting period. In these handicrafts on traditional clothing of Banjara community were presented and were appreciated by the organizers of exhibitions & by people both. The staff workers who presented the items/samples & explained to the visitors included Ms. Asha Pawar, Vijaya Pawar & Shankar Pawar. The local staff workers & volunteers helped in participating in the exhibitions.

On occasion of Birth Anniversary Of first Chief Minister of Maharashtra Late.Shri.Yashwantrao Chavan , Yashwantrao Chavan Smriti Samaroh was organized at Ambajogai on 11,12,& 13 march 2011, by Maharashtra State Saahitya aani samskruti Mandal,Mumbai, Exhibition was hold by HGMKVM ,Mr.Suresh Wandile ,Secretary Of Maharashtra State Saahitya aani samskruti Mandal,Mumbai visited to stall.
